Celebrating 30 Years of
Bringing the Wellness of Tomorrow, Today
February 9, 2015
Dear Steve,

We are excited to announce that for the seventh year in a row, we have been named a Constant Contact All Star by the largest eNewsletter service in the world!

We are particularly proud of this accomplishment because each year, more companies join Constant Contact, making  it that much more competitive. Only 10% of the more than 250,000 businesses with Constant Contact win this award.

Obviously, we could not achieve this without your participation. Our eNewsletter exists because of your consistent interest and passion for the content we provide. Hopefully, we can keep the streak going, with your help of course!

Have a happy, healthy day. Steve and Bonnie

Did you know
that as we said last week, if a gut bacterial implant is taken from a normal weight to obese person, the obese person loses weight? On the flip-side, a normal weight person can become obese after receiving a fecal transplant. One woman who had C. Difficile fully recovered after receiving a fecal transplant. Unfortunately, she became obese over a period of 18 months. The lesson here is to know who you are receiving the transplant from because you can take on the characteristics of your donor!

Why Organic Is Better for You
Research Still Growing In Favor of Organic

While health-conscious individuals understand the benefits of eating fresh fruits and veggies, they may not be aware of the amount of pesticides they could be ingesting along with their vitamin C and fiber.

A study published in last week's Environmental Health Perspectives is among the first to predict a person's pesticide exposure based on information about their usual diet. Researchers analyzed the dietary exposure of nearly 4,500 people from six U.S. cities to organophosphates (OPs), the most common insecticides used on conventionally grown produce in the United States.

Results showed that among individuals eating similar amounts of fruits and vegetables, those who reported eating organic produce had significantly lower OP pesticide exposures than those consuming conventionally grown produce. In addition, consuming those conventionally grown foods typically treated with more of these pesticides during production, including apples, nectarines and peaches, was associated with significantly higher levels of exposure.

Steve: One rule of thumb for eating produce: if it is thin-skinned, go organic. The following article encapsulates the research on organic versus conventional very well.

Far Infrared Sauna Therapy
One way to thaw out from the deep freeze is to experience Far Infrared Sauna Therapy. We have had one in our office for several years and it does not disappoint.

Aside from the fact that you are taking one hour out of your busy lives to relax, Far Infrared Therapy offers numerous therapeutic benefits, most importantly enhanced detoxification. Many clients use it to relieve painful joints, rev up metabolism, and remove buildup of heavy metals.
