Dear Valued Client,

During extra stressful times such as these, optimal dietary and lifestyle choices become less of a priority for some. It is critical that you continue to make them priorities for maintaining physical, mental, and emotional clarity.

As always, we are here to help. Bonnie
The Long Awaited Candida Action Plan

Yeast overgrowth, or full-blown Candida, is caused by an overpopulation of the yeast strain candida albicans. It is almost always caused by improper diet, environmental exposure, and/or antibiotic use. If left untreated, yeast wreaks havoc on the human body. New clients are shocked when I suspect yeast imbalance because it is rarely diagnosed in the medical community.

If three of the following are chronic, there is a strong possibility you have a yeast imbalance:
  • Sinus conditions
  • Excess mucus in nasal passages, throat, and/or chest
  • Recurring vaginal and/or stool mucus
  • Frequent or long-term use of antibiotics, such as tetracycline for acne
  • Frequent use of broad-spectrum antibiotics for recurrent infections, such as in the ears, bladder, vagina or throat
  • Repeated exposure to indoor mold (in the home and/or workplace)
  • Birth control pills use in women
  • Premenstrual symptoms
  • Recurrent vaginal yeast infections in women or prostate problems in men
  • Regular use of cortisone-type drugs
  • Chronic ingestion of simple carbohydrates with low protein intake
  • Cravings for sweets, breads or alcohol
  • Sensitivity to molds, dampness and smells
  • Mental symptoms such as depression, mood swings, or confusion
  • Recurrent skin fungus infections, such as ringworm, athlete's foot, "jock itch", or nail problems
  • Digestive bloating, systemic fluid retention
  • Continuous weight gain, even with strict dieting
How do you get rid of yeast? It is a difficult task that requires commitment, but it can be done. Yeast loves the warmth and wetness of the human body. It does not leave willingly. Depriving yeast of excess carbohydrates (especially grains, breads, and sugar) is imperative. Avoiding environmental exposure to yeast and its cousins is crucial for healing the host (you). In certain instances, there can be unsavory byproducts from yeast elimination. For instance, a client who used our infrared sauna saw white yeast coming out of her pores!

I have been working with patients with chronic yeast issues for twenty years. The Candida Action Plan compiles much of this information. While it can never take the place of an individualized consultation, it is as complete a self-help plan as there is. Highlights include a yeast foods list, yeast-free food plan with shopping list, natural remedies, and safe pharmacological therapy.
