Food Focus
 Olive Oil
Olive oil is the engine that runs Mediterranean-style cuisine. Olive oil is anti-inflammatory, reduces cancer risk, helps with pain relief, and is heart-healthy.

Olive oil contains a chemical called Oleocanthal, which can help prevent Alzheimer's by altering the structure of neurotoxic proteins implicated in the disease.

A spoonful of olive oil daily acts as a antimicrobial and antibacterial. Olive oil may prevent gallstones and has been known to stop annoying, cough-induced throat tickles.

Here are several tips for maximizing olive oil's benefits:
  • For cooking, use only medium heat or lower.
  • Use expeller-pressed, extra virgin olive oil. Lower grades are often blended with canola or other vegetable oils.
  • Try to support organic or boutique brands when possible. This reduces the possibility of purchasing adulterated oil.
  • Refrigeration is preferred (or keep in cool, dry place).
What can this monounsaturated oil not do? Here are non-dietary uses that may have never crossed your mind:
  • Skin moisturizer
  • Alternative to WD-40 for squeaky doors
  • Accelerates healing from sunburn
  • Alternative to shaving cream
  • Shoe Shiner

Sweet Leaf Stevia 100 Packets
Many clients say they are having a hard time finding Sweet Leaf because Truvia and PureVia (stevia/erythritol hybrid) have taken over the market share. We anticipated this would happen. Read Zhanneel's Truvia comment on our blog (comment #10).

Pure Encaps Alpha Lipoic Acid
Lipoic acid is the most broad-spectrum antioxidant because it functions in water and fat. One of lipoic acid's most common uses is for individuals with improper blood sugar function.
