Dr. Oz Dressed Down in Front of House Congress
Our only question is, what took Congress so long? Here are some snippets from an Associated Press article on the hearing:

"Under pressure from Congress, celebrity Dr. Mehmet Oz last week offered to help "drain the swamp" of unscrupulous marketers using his name to peddle so-called miracle pills and cure-alls to millions of Americans desperate to lose weight.

Oz appeared before the Senate's consumer protection panel and was scolded by Chairman Claire McCaskill for claims he made about miracle aids on his TV show, "The Dr. Oz Show."

Oz acknowledged that his language about green coffee and other supplements has been 'flowery'."

Bonnie and Steve: If you have read our eNewsletter over the years, you know that we are deeply concerned with the sensationalist, one-size-fits-all mentality of the Dr. Oz Show. On a daily basis, we have to explain to clients why the latest miracle cure is not right for their individual needs.

Hopefully, Dr. Oz finally got the message.

Dr. Oz. has done wonders for opening the public's eyes to other forms of healing. However, he mixes it in with cheap ratings tactics. This is the conundrum for Dr. Oz. There are no miracle cures. There are only supplements to a healthy lifestyle. We have recommended them for almost 30 years. But they are called supplements for a reason. They do not replace good lifestyle choices.

Unfortunately, boring supplements are not ratings-grabbers.
